The Archeological Museum of Reggio Calabria has recently finished the renovation and requalification of the historic Palace, also known as National Museum of the Magna Graecia. This Palace is one of the most important building in matter of Italian culture, since in its rooms are shielded several evidences from the Magna Graecia. Here find shelter important pieces of Greco-Roman art, but above all stands out the underwater collection with the worldwide famous Riace Bronzes, dated back to the V Century BC.

In this important restoration project, the light plays an essential role: transparent LED arrays have been strategically placed to emphasize the showcases and to enhance the beauty of the precious treasures and the many statues. LED modules have also been used inside display cases in order to highlight the elegance and the pureness of the lines. These solutions definitely improve the exposition of structures and the visitor experience, in addition to the enhancement of the spaces and the white surfaces.

On Tuesday 22 December took place the opening ceremony of the ground floor rooms of this historic palace, which host the Riace Bronzes, along with the inauguration of exhibition Olympus. Gods and Heroes in the ancient Greece. This exhibit lasts from the 22 December 2015 to the 31 March 2016 and it is a preview of the museum general opening, which is scheduled for the next spring.
